The truth about fish oil and HDA

The theme of oil fish and add/ADHD often discussed recently in the press, magazines and the internet. When you have finished reading this, you’ll better understand how the use of fish oil received a group of children with Attention deficit hyperactivity (ADHD) disorder and also why fish oil and ADHD are so often used together in the same sentence. The findings of this research, you are able to draw your own conclusions on the question of whether fish oil is an effective way to treat add/ADHD and a course of action if you want to take in your own life with yourself or a loved one.

ADHD has puzzled many researchers, physicians, increase, therapists and dietitians for decades. He has received increasing attention in recent years as the number of affected children held 3-5%. Specifically, the State has reached epidemic proportions with American children. It is thought ADHD caused by low levels of dopamine in the brain chemical levels of this chemical could be restored either by means of synthetic or natural state could be reversed or at least, controlled. Ritalin was the preferred method of treatment over the years many physicians and its effectiveness has been attributed to increase dopamine levels causes of medication.

I will refer to what is called the AA/EPA ratio in the next few paragraphs. What measures are essentially is the ratio of omega-6 acids harmful to beneficial omega-3 acids. This number is for a person better. It was found that many people with disorders of the brain, such as disease of Alzheimer, dyslexia, stroke and multiple sclerosis have higher ratios than those who do, leading doctors and researchers believe that a deficiency in omega-3 and higher levels of omega 6 in the diet is the cause, or at least a factor for many chronic conditions and disorders of the brain that we see today. These findings are compelling to many in the medical profession to pay closer attention to the object oil fish and ADHD.

Researcher Dr. Barry Sears and brother Rene Espy engaged in a research experience where a group of children suffering from ADHD have received high doses of fish (10-20 grams) oil while simultaneously controlling insulin children for eight weeks.

The results were stunning. After a period of just a few weeks, it was noted that “ability of children to focus increased dramatically” (Sears 145). Also note that there is “of the positive changes in behavior at school and at home” (Sears 145). The children’s blood was measured at the beginning of the experiment and it was determined that the average ratio of AA/EPA was about 22. It should also be noted that Japanese children have AA/EPA ratio of about 1.5. Why the comparison to Japanese children? The reason is that Japanese children have a much higher intake of Omega-3 fish in their diet than their American counterparts, and the average ratio of AA/EPA for them is 1.5.

After the experience of eight weeks the blood of children was measured again and it was found that the average AA/EPA ratio was as low as 3, leading researchers to believe that reducing ADHD symptoms of lack of concentration and poor focus were directly due to high levels of fish used in the food oil.

Dr. Sears also noted that at the end the experience of eight weeks, most children resorted back to their old eating habits, stopped taking fish oil and deteriorate rapidly under their previous conditions.

The results showed that a lower ratio of AA/EPA is achieved by reducing Omega 6 in diet and increasing Omega-3 fish oil via. The conclusions to be drawn from this experience is that a lower ratio of AA/EPA is probably responsible for a reduction in symptoms of ADHD and if fish oil should continuously be administered daily, ADHD symptoms would most handy or non-existent.

These results beg the question: If children continue schema beyond the trial of eight weeks, would be the benefits have persisted?

So, what is your goal? Your goal is to determine where hold you on oil fish and ADHD. Also, to use this information to determine if the use of fish oil might improve your quality of life and quality of life of a loved one by reducing or eliminating the effects of add/ADHD. Even if the experience is far from conclusive, the results are stunning and enormous light on the miracle of oily fish in the treatment of ADHD. It should be noted that there were many similar experiments with comparable results.
