fish oil supplement Omega: Price and quality trade off?
I see the huge price variation between different mercury molecularly distilled and free brands of omega 3 fish oil. At the top end is Omega Brite ("quality Pharmaceutical ") of approximately $ 23 for 60 capsules of 500 mg vs. Trader Joe brand distilled mercury-free/molecularly $ 8 for 90 capsules, 1100 mg. This means that The Omega Brite is about 10 times more expensive per 500 mg dose. The site is full of Omega Brite lot of detail and convincing information, but it is unclear to me if the price factor 10x offers benefits that are so far above the standard omega 3 benefits that it's worth it. Can anyone shed light on this issue? Thank you.
The site Omega Brite is pretty good actually, I have been waiting much brighter and less substance. Much of the price increase is not doubt the premium they see their brand as attract. However, this does probably account for the full price difference! Not all Omega 3's are created equal, you know, those seeds watered Omega, you can get to add to salads and others in spite of containing omega 3, they are pretty useless – they contain ill Omega 3! In short chain Omega 3 are easy to find, but some health benefits, omega 3, you're the best of the long chain EPA and DHA variants, and this is precisely what is missing from most cheap Omega 3 variants. Personally I am a super omega-3 than the 60% EPA DHA and 15% super concentrate, pharmaceutical quality, mercury-free and costs about £ 9 for 90 x 1000 mg capsules (which is a low price for a suitable product). I guess that's about half the price of the Omega Brite, but the same company also sell a standard Omega 3 (18% EPA and 12% DHA) for about half the price of their "Super Omega 3", so I guess you can see there will always be a price difference.
